Auto insurance companies in New York can no longer ask about education and occupation as factors for setting premiums, the states Department of Financial Services said Wednesday.
The states Court of Appeals ruled that the Battery Park City Authority is a government entity and didnt have legal standing to challenge Jimmy Nolans Law.
The New York Department of Financial Services issued final regulations Wednesday aimed at stopping 'unscrupulous practices' in the title insurance industry.
Insurance agents and brokers in New York whose state licenses have expired can now apply for re-licensing online rather than go through the old paper system.
A New York state Department of Labor administrative law judge has ruled that three Uber drivers and others in New York City who are considered employees under state law and entitled to unemployment benefits.
