Mitchell, a provider of technology, connectivity, andinformation solutions to the property & casualty claimsindustry, announces the release of Decision Point 7.2, a medicalbill review and workflow solution for first- and third-partyliability claims handlers.

The solution was developed using agile development principlesemphasizing time-to-market and client-driven feature development.

Mitchell continues to focus on client needs, adding newcapabilities to maintain leadership in a highly data-drivenindustry, enhancing workflow automation, and utilizing claimsanalytics expertise in order to adapt to change, according to VidyaDinamani, Vice president of product management and marketing forMitchell.

Decision Point 7.2 introduces several features that were abledelivered in a shorter timeframe, and developed by activelyengaging with Mitchell clients to incorporate their feedback. Thesefeatures include the use of pharmacy data using web services, whichallows clients to leverage Medi-Span and Redbook as their preferreddrug pricing indices. This feature also provides pharmacy pricingin compliance with regulations rolled out forNew York.

The Mitchell NHQ Negotiation Services component enables clientsto leverage a broad array of negotiation services to theapproximately 50 to 70 percent of medical charges that aregenerated by providers who are not currently part of a providernetwork. Injury claims professionals are further enabled to achievetheir primary goal of delivering excellent medical care in the mostcost-effective manner to ensure maximum policy benefit for injuredparties.

Another feature included in this release is the ability forusers of DecisionPoint to provide feedback. This feedbackdelivers greater insight into user satisfaction and allows Mitchellto incorporate this feedback to improve DecisionPoint.
