The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents as unveiled its new agent-branding program entitled, "Local Agents Serving Main Street America." The promotional campaign is available to all PIA members around the country at no costs. The program currently consists of 21 print advertisements with 251 variations that PIA members can choose from. The program is designed as a means to promote PIA's members standing in the community by drawing attention to the sales and services of agents. "Since the purpose of the PIA branding program is to help PIA members grow their business, we selected a favorable price point. It's free," said Len Brevik, executive vice president and CEO.

Many carriers have signed up to be sponsors of the program. They include the following: AIG, Agent Auto, American Commerce Insurance Co., Auto-Owners Insurance, Bristol West Insurance Co., Celina Group, Columbia Group, Central Insurance Co., Columbia Insurance Co., and the German Mutual Insurance Co. Other participants include: Harleysville Insurance, Hartford Insurance Co., MetLife Auto and Home, Motorists Group, Northern Neck Insurance Co., Ohio Casualty Group, Progressive Casualty, Southern Insurance Underwriters, State Auto Insurance Co., Unitrin Specialty, and Westfield Insurance.
