Linda S. Downs, CPCU, AAI, a regional executive vice presidentof Brown & Brown, has been promoted to the newly formedposition of executive vice president for leadership development. Inthis new position, Downs will be responsible for the company'sBenefits & Compensation Department, Quality Control Division,and Security Committee, as well as for the nurturing of current andfuture leaders. She will continue to be responsible for the ProgramBusiness Units in Tampa and St. Louis.
|She joined Brown & Brown in 1980 to establish and build fromscratch a retail insurance operation in Orlando, turning it into an$11 million profit center.
