The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) has approved anaverage statewide homeowners insurance rate increase for CitizensProperty Insurance Corp. of 10.3 percent–slightly more than thestate-run insurer asked regulators to approve.
In August, Citizens asked for a 9.7 percent average homeowners rateincrease. The insurer also got more than the 7.4 percent increaserequested for mobile homeowners insurance, with the OIR approving a9.2 percent increase.
