When it comes to holiday traffic deaths, Labor Day is the deadliest holiday period during the summer, according to auto app provider Jerry, which reported the end-of-summer celebration is the holiday period with the second most roadway deaths.

From 2012-2021, the number of people killed in traffic accidents over Labor Day weekend increased 38%, according to Jerry. On average, 447 people die in auto accidents over during the holiday period each year.
