When it comes to cargo theft in the U.S., thieves increase their activity around the Labor Day weekend, according to CargoNet from Verisk, which analyzed trends from the Thursday before the holiday weekend through the Wednesday after Labor Day from 2017-2021.

During the analyzed period, the Friday before Labor Day and Tuesday after the holiday saw the most activity. In 20% on incidents, the cargo was last seen on Friday and 27% of complaints about theft are reported the day after Labor Day, CargoNet reported.
