JLTSpecialty USA, a U.S. subsidiary of Jardine LloydThompson Group plc, has appointed Dan Phebussenior vice president, and head of mining for the Americas. Phebusjoins JLT from Newmont Mining where he served as senior director ofglobal risk management.

JLT Specialty USA alsoappointed James Vendetti director. Basedin New York, Vendetti brings over 11 years of experience inconstruction risk management to JLT's Constructionpractice and most recently served as SVP for StarrCompanies.

John Degnan has been appointed theAmericanInsurance Association's new president and CEO. Degnan,a former New Jersey Attorney General, most recently served as thechairman of the Port Authority of New York and NewJersey.

Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker hasappointed Gary D. Anderson toCommissioner of the Division of Insurance, a regulatory agencyunder the Office of Consumer Affairs and BusinessRegulation. Anderson joined the Division in 2014 asFirst Deputy Commissioner and has served as the Acting Commissionersince Feb. 2017.

Qatar Reinsurance Company Limited hasappointed Manik Sethi chief executive ofits Singapore branch, effective Nov. 13. Sethi joined Qatar Re inMay 2016, initially as regional head of facultative marine andlater ats the team's global head.

Glenn R. Landau, senior vice president and CFOof International Paper (IP), has been elected to the board ofdirectors of FM Global. He joined IP in 1991 andhas since served in a variety of leadership positions.
