(Bloomberg) — A storm-free August in the Atlantic was probably too much to ask for.

Tropical Storm Danny formed out of a cluster of thunderstorms Tuesday about 1,600 miles (2,600 kilometers) east of the Windward Islands. It was about 1,385 miles from the islands with 50 mile-per-hour winds at 11 a.m. New York time Wednesday.

In Miami, the National Hurricane Center is predicting it may even become a hurricane by Friday.
