State Farm's “Discount Double Check” ad campaign featuring Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers “is now part of pop culture,” according to one ESPN blogger.

In the television commercials, Aaron Rodgers watches as State Farm agents and customers do his touchdown dance, calling it the “Discount Double Check.” The name refers to discounts State Farm provides for reasons such as safe driving, as well as money back for giving the company business for both a home and auto policy.

Analyzing data from social media tracking company Bluefin Labs, ESPN's Darren Rovell found that the words “Discount Double Check” appeared on 1 percent of all commentary on Twitter and Facebook during the Packers' game versus the Houston Texans on Oct. 14. The company says there were 6,400 comments about “Discount Double Check” throughout the game and three hours after it was over.

In addition to catching on with fans, naming the dance after State Farm's service is showing positive results for the company.

According to Rovell, Tim Van Hoof, assistant vice president of marketing communications for State Farm, said call volumes and people requesting quotes while mentioning the “Discount Double Check” are up significantly.

Van Hoof also said that the company has looked at Nielsen metrics and has seen its brand affinity and likability rise thanks to the television spots.
