A fire at a double-wide mobile home in Mountville, Ga. in lateMay seemed to leave residents in dismay. The three women and four children who called it home claimed they“lost everything,” but investigation lead officials to believe thatwas far from the truth.

Tips submitted to police led officials to Reginald Robertson,34, the owner of the mobile home, after suspicious fires consumed 6residences in the area. Though Robertson claimed he was at hispermanent residence nearly four hours away at the time of thefires, investigation revealed he was in close proximity of all ofthe residences that had burned.

Robertson was arrested and charged with first-degree arson for the single fire, while further investigationcontinued in regards to the other five. Additionally, the threewomen who lived in the home were charged with prior knowledge ofthe fire, as many of their belongings were found to have been movedto a home in a different community.

As it turns out, multiple insurance policies had been taken outon the double-wide. The policies totaled $235,425, and the policyheld by Robertson alone was $138,425. One of the policies was heldby someone who did not live in the home.

Less than two weeks later, Robertson was found to have beeninvolved with the five other fires that occurred the same night. Henow faces six counts of first-degree arson, two counts ofaggravated assault, and one count of insurance fraud.
