For the past several years, the insurance industry has turned to green-related coverages, especially in the area of construction, as a hot new market that could counterbalance the sluggish rates and commodity mindset in traditional commercial lines. Insurers scrambled to develop and market new coverages, while agents and brokers brushed up on a new green lexicon to prepare for the big demand.

But has the reality of green insurance lived up to the hype—especially for producers? To find out, American Agent & Broker asked a selected group of its readers to take a brief survey about what they are experiencing with green insurance. More than 200 readers complied from agencies across the country. Although responses came primarily from agents and brokers, titles of respondents ranged from agency presidents and CEOs to owner/partners, other agency executives, and even CSRs.
