The National Catastrophe Policyholders Coalition has supported the Nonadmitted Lines and Reinsurance Act of 2007 (S. 929 and H.R. 1065).
The coalition, which represents a group of 12 developers, lenders and realtors, has asked Senate Banking Committee Chair Christopher Dodd to move it to full Senate for passage. They say that the bill is needed to protect capacity for catastrophe insurance.
The bill, which passed the House of Representatives last summer, would streamline the regulation of nonadmitted insurance and reinsurance. The Senate Banking Committee has not scheduled a hearing regarding the bill yet.
