6 insurance companies ranked best workplace for millennials in 2018

The insurance industry has been at a crossroads for quite some time. Many in the industry are close to retiring and numerous companies are looking to fill the gaps with the next generation of talent. To find the best and brightest, the industry has a number of tried-and-tested methods: on-campus recruiting and internships are some of its traditional methods. Companies working to stay ahead are implementing new strategies when it comes to the search for talent: the use of social media and flexible work accommodations are just two examples of such methods. Great Place to Work recently ranked the top 100 best workplaces for millennials in 2018. Out of 100, only six insurance companies made the list — an indicator of the lag the industry faces compared to other sectors. Related: How the insurance industry can attract and retain new talent

Methodology

More than 434,000 survey respondents from Great Place to Work-Certified companies provided input into this year's Best Workplaces for Millennials list. Great Place to Work analyzed each organization's performance in several areas, including: key great place to work metrics; comparison to other metrics; and a consistent experience within a diverse group. Companies needed to employ at least 50 millennials to be considered.
