Apartment living is getting a little roomier. The average size of a new apartment in the U.S. reached 910 square feet in 2025, up 13 square feet from the previous year, according to a recent analysis from RentCafe. Three-bedroom apartments saw the largest size increase, gaining 28 square feet for an average of 1,355 square feet.
