The Volusia County Council in Florida has approved an ordinance requiring owners of dangerous dogs to carry $500,000 in liability insurance. This decision follows a local incident last year in which two dogs attacked and killed an 8-year-old.
The intent of the ordinance is to place more accountability on the owners of dogs that have a documented history of aggression.
