A Valentine's Day romance may seem like the perfect launch into a storybook wedding but there are plenty of potential mishaps that lovebirds should be aware of in the run up to their big day.

One thing is certain about Valentine's Day: The holiday is big business. Romantics are expected to spend about $25.9 billion on gifts and dinners on the holiday sometimes called the Feast of Saint Valentine, according to WalletHub. And for those with matrimony in mind, that could be the first of hefty purchases to come as the average wedding spend in 2023 is $29,000, Zola reports.
