There's been a prediction circulating around the insurance industry for years: the idea that technology would displace agents. It has turned out that idea is wrong. Agents are not only doing business but thriving.

Some of the proof is in distribution. Many insurance companies founded on direct-to-consumer models are switching gears and embracing agency distribution. The reason: consumers — from Baby Boomers to Gen Z — understand the value of agents and want to work with them to handle their insurance needs.
