Insurance agents and brokers seeking new business opportunities might want to consider where the most economic growth is occurring in the U.S. Thankfully, researchers at the personal finance website WalletHub recently set out to determine just that.
They compared 515 cities of varying population sizes based on two key dimensions — sociodemographics and jobs and economy — and evaluated those dimensions using 17 relevant metrics, ranging from population growth and college-educated population growth to the unemployment rate decrease.
Researchers then graded each city on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the fastest economic growth. Finally, they determined each city's weighted average across all metrics to calculate its overall score and used the resulting scores to rank-order the sample.
