Everything cybersecurity-related has become mainstream — especially in the property & casualty insurance industry — as technology has become intertwined with nearly everything we, as a society, interact with. While this change has been positive in many aspects, data breaches and other cyberattacks continue to be a significantly negative downside.

Data breaches, in particular, have only gotten worse. Of the 15 largest data breaches in history, 10 took place in the 2010s, according to Business Insider.
