If you're looking to earn extra money, signing up with Uber as a driver may be an option.

According to the company's website, "signing up takes less than 4 minutes." But is it better to be an Uber driver than a licensed taxi driver in terms of earning potential?

According to a recent report published by the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based National Bureau of Economic Research, it appears that Uber drivers earn at least as much as taxi drivers and chauffeurs, and in many cases they earn more.
