Hackensack, New Jersey-based insurer Confie said it has acquired Elizabeth, New Jersey-based Salermo Insurance Agency LLC; Tyler, Texas-based Alamo Auto Insurance of East Texas; and Jamestown, New York-based Lockwood Agency Inc. Terms were not disclosed. To date, Confie has completed 17 acquisitions in 2016.

Philadelphia-based workers' compensation provider AmeriHealth Casualty Insurance Company said it has been acquired by New York City-based AmTrust Financial Services Inc. from Philadelphia-based Independence Health Group Inc. for approximately $90 million in cash. The transaction is to be funded with existing working capital.

New York City-based commercial property insurer Tokio Marine America said it has expanded its ocean marine offering to include hull and liability insurance. This new coverage will be offered in partnership with New Orleans-based Continental Underwriters, a managing general agency for Houston-based sister company Tokio Marine HCC.

Germany-based Munich Re/HSB Ventures said it has invested $23 million in a second round of funding for Germany-based Relayr, a start-up developing technologies for the “internet of things.”

Bermuda-based insurer Aspen Insurance Group said it has acquired San Juan, Puerto Rico-based marine insurance managing general agency Blue Waters Insurers Corp. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Chicago-based insurance brokerage Hub International Ltd. said that it has acquired the assets of Santa Barbara, California-based Riviera Insurance Services LLC. Terms were not disclosed.
