The National Assn. of Insurance Commissioners(NAIC) appointed North Dakota Insurance Commissioner andcurrent NAIC president, Adam Hamm, to a two-yearterm as the state insurance commissioner representative on theFinancial Stability Oversight Council. Mr. Hamm will represent theinterests of all the nation's state insurance regulators on thecouncil.

TheGriffith Insurance Education Foundation presented its LifetimeAchievement Award to Barbara Baurer, CEO forCOUNTRY Financial in El Paso, TExas, for her committment toeducation and support of the foundation's mission.

Appleby& Wyman announced several changes to its leadership thisweek. Carmen Marciano, who previously served aspresident and CEO since 1986, will assume the role of chairman,effective Jan. 1, 2015. Lisa Marciano will succeedher as president and CEO. Christine In addition, ChristineSciola was appointed as executive vice president and CFO,and Mary Ann Dignan was promoted to the positionof senior vice president of operations.
