Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper is expected to signlegislation regulating ridesharing services such as uberX andLyft.

Once the governor signs the bill – which includes insurancerequirements – Colorado will become the first state to enactlegislation governing these new businesses, referenced in the billas "Transportation Network Companies."

Under the bill, insurance must be available once a driver islogged in, whether or not the driver already has a passenger in hisor her vehicle and whether or not the driver is in the process ofpicking up a passenger.
