A veteran Dallas police officer is facing termination after an internal affairs investigation concluded he filed a fraudulent insurance claim for hail damage to his BMW in June 2012.
Cortenay Howard, who was hired in 2002, is awaiting a disciplinary hearing before Police Chief David Brown. Howard, who is currently on administrative leave, has denied any wrongdoing.
Since 2008, Howard has filed at least nine insurance claims, though he has failed to follow through on some of them.
