Applied Systems announces that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office awarded the company two patents for technology in Applied Systems Epic, the company's agency and brokerage management system. The patented technologies provide enhanced data protection and intuitive data presentation capabilities in Epic.
Patent 8,234,219 is for technology that protects potentially sensitive information, such as client Social Security numbers and other confidential information, managed and maintained in Epic. This patented system, method, and apparatus for protecting personal data allow insurance organizations to manage clients and policies more securely.
Patent 8,290,971 is for technology that intuitively presents information within Epic. This method and apparatus present requested data by comparing the total quantity of displayable data items to the display control size. This enables Epic users to view an optimal mix of requested data to more effectively service clients.
