Beginning January 2013, Foremost Insurance Group isadding business insurance to its portfolio ofproducts.

The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based insurer known primarily inthe specialty-lines insurance market is a part of the FarmersInsurance Group. Both are subsidiaries of Zurich Financial ServicesGroup.

Foremost, which is dedicated to the independent-producerdistribution system, says Zurich North America is ending itsZurich Small Business program and is working with Foremost tooffer small-business policyholders and agents an opportunity to bea part of the program at Foremost.

“The addition of Business insurance makes Foremost a marketleader with a versatile product line and easy-to-use systems andprocesses for independent producers,” said Mark Testa, head ofBusiness insurance, independent agency sales and distribution.

The addition of Business insurance to the Foremost portfolioallows the company to offer its producers, and in turn theircustomers, over 600 classes of business under one brand, thecompany says. Foremost also offers a single-quote engine andmany other resources for independent producers.

“Foremost is focused on helping independent producers grow theirbusiness and offering more tools to help them sell,” addsTesta.

Starting in 2013 Foremost will begin to roll out Business OwnersPolicies, Employment Practices Liability, Commercial Auto, Workers'Compensation and Umbrella. New business will be phasednationally with the a roll-out for renewals following. Thetransition process will be completed by 2015, says Foremost.
