One of the insurance industry’s premier business, technology, and networking events will celebrate its 10th anniversary in May 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada with a new name and a new image. The event formerly known as the ACORD LOMA Insurance Systems Forum will now be called simply the ACORD LOMA Forum.

“When we first presented the Forum it was more focused on systems and targeted specifically toward the technology sector of the industry,” says ACORD president and CEO Gregory Maciag. “Ten years later, the forum has evolved into an event that has relevance to many industry communities. We didn’t want the name to limit our growth or the public’s perception of what we offer. Besides, everyone’s called us just `ACORD LOMA’ for years now, so the new name is already in common use.”

To underscore the event’s increasing focus on how the use of technology can inform and enhance strategic business decisions, promotion for the 2013 ACORD LOMA Forum will employ the tagline, “Technology. Business. Connected.” The event is scheduled for May 6-8 in at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Along with the new name, the ACORD LOMA Forum is unveiling a new logo which incorporates a colored square with the number “10″ to commemorate the anniversary. The Forum team, made up of ACORD and LOMA staff members, is also exploring new approaches to every aspect of the event and is actively seeking a special keynote speaker.

“For our 10th, we really want to pull out all the stops,” said Jeff Hasty, senior vice president, LOMA. “We want to celebrate this milestone by giving our attendees a great show.” Hasty says that the new name and the new look are in keeping with the event’s mission. “The industry has changed a lot since the Forum began, and people’s expectations have changed too. The ACORD LOMA Forum has always tried to stay on the leading edge, and this anniversary is the perfect time for us to set a fresh course for the next 10 years and beyond.”
