Crawford & Co. appointed Emanuel V. Lauria executive vice president of sales and marketing for the global organization. Lauria will focus on developing and implementing a sales and marketing plan as well as directing sales, marketing communications, branding and product development.

Aon announced three hires at its Indianapolis office. Frank Treco will take on the position of senior vice president for Aon Risk Solutions and specialize in retail, life sciences, financial services and manufacturing industries. Danielle Calahan joins the office as director of data analytics for Aon Risk Solutions and will oversee the collection, analyzation and interpretation of health care claims from vendors and carriers. Bob Boyer will take on the position of senior vice president and central region practice leader for Aon Hewitt. He will be responsible for client management teams and employee benefit strategy.

Rob Carron was named account executive for Willis North Amercia Yacht Practice. Carron was previously vice president of senior sales and risk consultant, yacht practice for Marsh USA Inc. His expertise will allow Willis to build its Superyacht group.

SafeAuto has, for the first time in its history, has chosen a CEO from outside of its founding family. Ron Davies, former senior vice president with AllState Insurance Co., will join SafeAuto as CEO in mid-August.

Markel Corp. annouced three promotions within its executive team: Jeff Lamb will join the product line team as executive underwriting officer, overseeing wholesale underwriting; Wendy Houser, previously Mid South Markel office director of marketing, will be returning to that office, after some time at Markel's Richmond office, as managing director of production and underwriting; Evans Nash was named managing director of the wholesale marketing department, where he will focus on the corporate account exectuive program.

Mergers & Acquisitions

Digital Insurance acquired DSG Benefits Group. DSG is headquartered in Dallas and will be Digital's first entry into the Texas market. DSG will operate under the Digital Benefit Advisors name.

New Programs

Ironshore Inc. launched a commercial crime product. Coverage includes both internal threats, such as assets stolen by an employee, as well as external, such as check forgery, theft and transfer fraud via the internet. The product will be offered by Ironshore's Lloyd's Pembroke Syndicate 4000 in London and will offer limits up to £20 million.

Markel Specialty Programs partnered with All Risks Ltd. to develop an excess hired/non-owned auto liability program. The program will accept a broad range of clients such as newspaper delivery, home healthcare, sales representatives and rental centers.

Insurance Associates Inc. of Boulder and Estes Park, Colo., has formed F&W Insurance to meet the unique needs of Colorado's Emergency Service organizations and Public & Water entities.
