Towers Watson named Ross Howard global leader of its insurance and reinsurance brokerage business. Howard follows Bill Eyre, who held the title for 14 years and will be continuing with Towers Watson in a recently developed position focusing on client relationships.

Chad Schubert was appointed client advocate for Willis of Ariz., a division of Willis North America. He will oversee outreach in the Ariz. community, specializing in constrution and real estate.

Marsh selected Bertil Olsson to oversee Marsh's growing Canadian energy operations, headquartered in Calgary, as its North American enegy practice leader. Olsson previously led Marsh's U.S. energy mining & power practice based in Houston.

Keri Kish has been named director of government relations for The National Assn. of Professional Surplus Lines Offices. She will oversee the membership's regulatory and legislative outreach.

Mergers & Acquisitions

The Main Street America Group made Austin Mutual Insurance Co. an affiliate. Austin Mutual serves states in the Midwest and West. It writes personal and commercial lines and is headquartered in Maple Grove, Minn. The affiliation expands Main Street America's geographic presence.

Marsh & McLennan Agency acquired Security Insurance Services Inc. Security Insurance is located in New Berlin, Wis. and provides property-casualty lines and employee benefits to Midwestern individuals and businesses.

IronPro, a division of Ironshore, has made an alliance with Zodiac Insurance Services Inc. in order to meet coverage needs for small and midsized businesses. Zodiac will offer IronPro's professional and management liability products designed for smaller for profit, nonprofit and affinity insurance groups.

New Programs

Oracle released Oracle Documaker Enterprise Edition 12.1, an enterprise document automation system. The version has several enhanced collaboration features, which allow businesses to create documents and move products to the market faster thanks to a Library Product Management tool.

Markel announced a new comprehensive loss control program to educate EPLI clients about managing risks. Markel partnered with Jackson Lewis and HR Care to add a legal hotline and online education materials related to legal compliance to the program.

Industry veterans George Anderson and Stephen Benson are founding Anderson Benson Insurance in Nashville, Tenn. The partners, four in total, plan to provide expert local service through their small agency.

Hallmark Insurance Co. selected IVANS Inc. to automate its agent communication. Hallmark hopes to improve and simplify the downloading process and upgrade its data systems along with its administration system.
