Mitchell, a provider of technology, connectivity, andinformation solutions to the p&c claims industry, announces thelaunch of its risk and performance optimization (RPO) solutionsunit, intended to position Mitchell as a leader in advancedanalytics serving the insurance claims industry.

Leveraging analysis of claims data processed through Mitchell'scasualty and auto physical damage businesses, the RPO unit willhelp the company apply new analytics, data warehousing, andconsulting resources to the claims management challenges facingitsU.S.clients.

The RPO unit's mission is to deliver analytics-based automationthrough Mitchell's core software platforms that help claimsoperations resolve claims faster, mitigate fraud, waste and abuse,and maximize policy holder's claim experience.

Mitchell has hired Keith Peterson to lead the new RPO unit.Peterson, a 20-year veteran of the predictive analytics industry,has been with Mitchell for one year and was previously senior vicepresident of Global Data Product Development with Experian and COOof Claritas, now part of the Nielsen Company.

“Claims leaders need access to more insight to identify wherethey can improve operating performance and better automation toassist adjusters in resolving claims faster and fairly,” saysPeterson.

Peterson holds a doctorate fromVanderbiltUniversityand has beenpublished in areas such as data-driven optimization andsegmentation methodologies.
