EPIC hires VP claims management: Edgewood Partners Insurance Center announced Hilton Brown as vice president of claims management. He will provide claims support for PowerGuard Specialty Insurance Services (EPIC's sister company) and oversee client claims and advocacy in Los Angeles and Irvine, Calif.

TGA hires product manager: TGA Insurance Managers, wholly owned subsidiary of Hallmark Financial Services, hired Michael Gallien as product manager for its oil and gas program. Prior, Gallien worked for Chartis as energy underwriter for its global energy department.

Brown & Brown acquires N.Y. firm: Brown & Brown of Connecticut, a subsidiary of Brown & Brown, acquired Kane Partners, a New York employee benefits firm. The company's staff will move to Brown & Brown's offices in Rocky Hill, Conn.

HSB launches new E&O coverage: The Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Co., a part of Munich Re, launched contractors E&O coverage targeted toward small artisan-type contractors. Coverage is designed to protect plumbers, electricians, painters, finish carpenters, select specialty trade contractors and other small contractors.

Starr introduces white-collar disability: Starr Indemnity & Liability Co., a member of Starr Cos., introduced white-collar disability insurance offering created for high-net worth individuals and corporations. Starr Indemnity's Accident & Health Division in conjunction with Pro Financial Services will underwrite the program's coverage.
