Heffernan hires assistant VP: Heffernan Insurance Brokers brought Anna-Liza Estoesta on board as assistant vice president. Estoesta's focus will be on mid-sized Bay Area business opportunities. She will be based out of the company's Palo Alto, Calif., office.

Safeco announces new leaders: The Safeco Insurance National Advisory Council elected two new leaders for 2012: Shane Tatum, president, and Jeff Ogard, vice president. Prior, Tatum served on the agent council for seven years, he is also CEO of Integra Financial Group. Ogard is vice president of personal lines at EHL Insurance.
