CSC announces that Mike Lawrie, 58, has been appointed presidentand chief executive officer, and will join the company no laterthan March 31. Lawrie succeeds Michael W. Laphen, 61, whopreviously announced his plan to retire as the company's chairman,president, and CEO.

CSC's board also announces that Rodney F. Chase, a currentdirector on the company's board, has been appointed non-executivechairman of the board of directors, effective upon Lawrie's startas president and CEO. Lawrie has also been appointed to CSC'sboard, effective immediately.

Lawrie is currently CEO of UK-based Misys plc, a global leaderof IT solutions for the financial services industry publicly tradedon the LondonStock Exchange.

Lawrie has extensive global experience in the IT and softwareindustry including 27 years at IBM where he served as senior vicepresident and group executive with responsibility for sales anddistribution of IBM's products and services worldwide.
