Mitek Systems Inc., a provider of mobile-imaging solutions, hasannounced a suite of solutions that enables P&C insurers todeliver mobile services across the sales, service and supportfunctions.

The solutions use the camera on a mobile device (smartphones andtablets) to take photos of documents to eliminate data entry onsmall keypads and automate tasks creating superior mobile userexperience.

Progressive Insurance is first to market with Mitek's MobilePhoto Quoting, which utilizes cameras on smartphones to automatethe shopping and buying process for auto insurance. Using theProgressive mobile application available for download in the AppleApp Store, the consumer simply enters their ZIP code and takes apicture of their driver's license, vehicle identification number orexisting insurance ID card.

Mitek's patented mobile-imaging technology automaticallyextracts relevant information from the documents and auto-populatesthe fields in Progressive's mobile-quoting app. The user thenconfirms the information and hits submit. Moments later, theyreceive an auto insurance quote with the option to buy.

• Mobile Photo Claims – streamlines the claims process byenabling customers and agents to simply snap photos of a customer'sdriver's license, insurance card and license plate
• Mobile Photo Document Capture & Send – enablespolicyholders and agents to take a photo of any document and sendit as a high-quality PDF to any e-mail address or fax number
