A Lake County, Calif. woman is now behind bars after collectingworkers' compensation while she owned and operated her ownbusiness.

Nicki Lee Buxmann, 48, owned and operated the TNT Takeover/MMABoxing gym in Roseville, Calif., although she had previously been injured while workingas a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.

Buxmann told the Department of Labor on multiple occasions thatshe was not working or receiving an income while she owned the gym,yet an undercover agent caught her teaching defensive tacticstechniques, replacing light bulbs, cleaning windows, and sweepingexercise mats.

Buxmann pleaded guilty in January and was sentenced in lateAugust to five months in jail followed by five months of homedetention and 36 months of supervised release. She has also beenordered to pay $104,834 in restitution for the false statement usedto obtain the fraudulent benefits.
