America's Claims Event, which takes place from June 15 to 17, 2011 in the Big Easy, will feature a renowned Philadelphia attorney who was hired to develop the distribution plan for funds tied to the largest environmental disaster in the nation's history. Founder and chairman of the prestigious Cozen O'Connor law firm, Stephen Cozen, will take center stage on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the Hilton Riverside in New Orleans, LA.
In August 2010, Mr. Cozen joined the list of outside law firms helping BP deal with the fallout from the Deepwater Horizon disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. Kenneth Feinberg, the fund's administrator, hired Mr. Cozen and nine other lawyers from the Cozen O' Connor law firm to draft the terms for distributing $20 billion in compensation funds to businesses and individuals affected by the disaster.
“Having Mr. Cozen deliver his keynote address at this point in time is critical to our industry,” explained Josh Brous, Director of Program Management, Annual America's Claims Event. “The timeliness of his presentation with regards to his efforts in the Gulf Region and his extraordinary work in property catastrophe litigation will give our audience of more than 400 senior claims professionals an unparalleled view on what we have learned from handling mega disasters and how to scale it to their departments.”
