Insurance Sector Employment LevelsProperty and casualty carrier employment is at the lowest level in more than 20 years, according to data published by the U.S. Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics and compiled by the Insurance Information Institute (I.I.I.).

P&C carrier employment fell to 459,100 in January 2011, down 0.7 percent from 462,300 in the month prior. Compared to January 2010, P&C carrier employment has declined 2 percent.
