Jim McCahill has announced his retirement from active duty with St. James Insurance Group and St. Johns Insurance Co. McCahill is the founder and chairman of the organizations, which provide insurance and insurance services to more than 300,000 policyholders through a network of over 2,000 agencies. He will continue his role as director, and remains the majority shareholder. The Orlando-based companies are among the largest privately held firms of their kind in Florida, writing over $300 million in premium. Robert Lucas will continue in his role as president and CEO of the parent company St. James, and Reese Bowen remains president of St. Johns.
