Sandra Parrillo was sworn in yesterday as chairwoman of the board of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies, during the association's 115th annual conference held in San Diego.

Ms. Parrillo is the president and chief executive officer of the Providence Mutual Fire Insurance Company in Providence, R.I. and has been with the company for 30 years. She is NAMIC's first chairwoman and is heavily involved in the association serving on a number of committees: the NAMIC PAC Board of Trustees and the Property Casualty Conference Board of Directors.

She is affiliated with several other industry-related associations and is a former director of the Rhode Island chapter of the American Society of Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters.
