Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty would like to beginsurveying the state's insurance companies to get a grasp of one ofthe largest non-catastrophe cost drivers in Florida: sinkholeclaims.
In a previous interview with NU Online News Service,Commissioner McCarty said the sinkhole claims issue has become moreserious as frequency increases. Insurance companies areincreasingly spending thousands of dollars to handle these types ofclaims–enough to seriously affect their bottom lines.
