Alan Pearce, 42, of Lakeland has been charged by the Polk County Sheriff's Office with altering a bank bill or check and two counts of grand theft. Pearce allegedly stole insurance premium payments from two customers of 4 Corners Insurance, where he was employed. The incidents occurred in February and September of last year. Pearce, who had worked for the Davenport agency for two years, was fired after the charges were filed.
