J. Smith Lanier & Co. insurance brokerage said it will donate $50,000 toward relief efforts in Haiti and auto carrier Mercury Insurance said it will match $50,000 of employee giving.
West Point, Ga.-based Lanier, which was National Underwriter magazine's 2008 Commercial Agency of the Year award winner, said it was matching more than $25,000 given by employees for relief efforts to help those in Haiti affected by the earthquake.
