The National Association of Insurance Commissioners saidyesterday it will keep secret the names of bidders competing for acontract to assess the value of insurers' mortgage backedsecurities.

NAIC said the contract to help evaluate residential mortgagebacked securities had gone to PIMCO. It provided no financialdetails, would not reveal what the winning bid was, or the names ofany other bidders.
