Insurance companies need to work on communications with agents and beef up their technology, according to more than 1,200 agents polled by state trade groups.

The findings came in the 2009 Company Performance Survey, administered by the Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut, New Hampshire, New Jersey and New York State Inc.
