|Competitive Enterprise Institute, the Washington-basedconservative think tank, said it has launched a Web site centeredon government regulation in the insurance industry
|The Web site, nicpa.org, will focus on the National InsuranceConsumer Protection Act and the proposed optional federal charterfor insurance companies, CEI said.
|A considerable Google advertising budget, said CEI, will supportthe site, which will be updated several times a week.
|"Our goal is to give the free-market perspective on the idea ofan optional federal charter, while also providing accurate andtimely information on the debate," said CEI policy analyst and siteadministrator Kevin Hilferty.
|"We may have a free-market point of view, but we aim toacknowledge both sides of the debate and engage it as best as wecan," added Mr. Hilferty.
|Additions to the Web site may feature online debates andinteractive question-and-answer sessions, CEI noted.
