Itasca, Ill.-based insurance broker Arthur J. Gallagher &Co. said it has acquired Summit Insurance Group in San Antonio,Texas. Terms of the deal were not released.
Established in 1997, Summit Insurance offers a wide range ofemployee benefit consultation and brokerage services for theirTexas clients. The agency specialize in group medical, dental, lifeand disability insurance with an emphasis on planning, design,implementation, cost containment and plan administration for groupbusinesses with 50 or more employees.
Buddy Morris, the principal of Summit, and his associates, atotal of 22 employees, will continue to operate in their currentlocation under the direction of John Neumaier, south centralregional executive vice president of Gallagher's employee benefitconsulting and brokerage operations.
