The Professional Insurance Agents of New York State Inc. said itwill present Colleen Parmelee with its Industry Professional of theYear award during its annual Hudson Valley Regional AwarenessProgram.

The Hudson Valley Regional Awareness Program will take placeOct. 23 in Tarrytown, N.Y.

Ms. Parmelee is a commercial-lines territory manager forHarleysville Insurance Co. and a member of its eastern New Yorkteam. Her territory responsibilities include agency management,marketing and large account underwriting for eight ofHarleysville's largest New York agents.

The award is given to an individual who has demonstratedqualities that foster a strong working relationship with agents andbrokers, and who best exemplifies a commitment to professionalismand service, the association said.

“Throughout her career, Ms. Parmelee has demonstrated a respectfor her colleagues and customers in the insurance industry,” saidDonna Chiapperino, chairwoman of the Hudson Valley RAP Committeeand PIANY first vice president. “This award reflects her dedicationto the insurance industry throughout New York's Hudson Valleyregion.”
