Aon Middle East, a division of Chicago-based insurance broker Aon Corp., said it has received authorization to operate in Qatar by the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA).

The move follows Aon's opening of its regional headquarters in the Dubai International Finance Centre (DIFC) last month.

The authorization adds to Aon's network of operations in the Middle East including operational offices in the UAE (Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi), Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman and its developing offices in Kuwait.
