Aon Middle East announced that the brokerage has opened itsregional headquarters in the Dubai International Finance Centre, inthe United Arab Emirates.

The announcement was made after the company was granted a fulllicense to operate within the DIFC.

Aon said the new regional headquarters will "allow clients tolink into the worldwide Aon network across 120 countries, combiningglobal presence with specific country expertise that can facilitatethe most complex of cross-border transactions."

Aon said it now has operational offices in the UAE, SaudiArabia, Bahrain and Oman, and developing offices in Kuwait andQatar.

Latif AlRayes, chairman of Aon's Middle East operations, said,"We are very pleased to have received our DIFC license, and withthe free zone fast moving toward its goal of becoming the fourthmajor world financial hub, it makes sense for us to locate ourregional headquarters here."
